Touring Melbourne: Dessert Brunch

Okay, so it is no hiding I love a dessert brunch. Pancakes, french toast or waffles? Yes, please!

In Melbourne, we do love our cafes and brunch so I wanted to put together some of my latest dessert brunches and yes they were all very amazing!

Code 21 – Brunswick

A small cafe on the edge of a massive apartment block, Code 21 is a really cute cafe with super friendly staff and that classic Melbourne brunch vibe. So what to order? We were conflicted with the dessert brunch option and were happy with our decision to share the red velvet waffles (thanks to the waitress), really the photo speaks for itself! Yum, it was amazing, the chocolate sauce was next level. Our savoury meals were also amazing!! Highly recommend this cafe for you brunch list!

Bentwood – Fitzroy

Bentwood has been on my list for a long time, ever since I read they did golden gaytime panna cotta and it did not disappoint. Share you brunch with your bestie and also get the eggs benedict with the beef cheek and sweet potato waffle! Wow, it is amazing!

The day we went, AFL player Marc Murphy and his family even joined us for brunch 😉

SOS – South Yarra

What an absolute hidden gem! After a big walk around Albert Park, my housemate and I were pretty peckish. Once having an amazing Vietnamese roll at Master Roll, it was probably time for a coffee and maybe a cheeky cake. Just down the road in a little arcade, which reminded as of the Gold Coast, we found SOS. Once ordering a coffee and slice we stumbled across the menu, which had brioche french toast, “umm, excuse me, can we please change our order?” So we got the brioche french toast and golly, it was amazing, one of my favourite dessert brunches, I know that’s a big call!

SOS is a cute little cafe in South Yarra, who even do $7 espresso martinis and $20 steaks on a Saturday night! Check this place out for sure.

NO PICTURE!! So sad!

Hash Speciality Coffee – Camberwell

A very well known cafe in Melbourne, which recently opened in Camberwell and I definitely know why! If you want a dessert brunch you want to try French Toasted Bacon Croissant. Amazing flavour and the peanut butter was the best!

The brunch options, in general, are incredible. Try the fritters, also amazing. Hash Speciality Coffee is a must.

Koko Black – CBD

Not a brunch place, although it could be! Koko Black do have a range of sweet and savoury dishes. We shared the dessert degustation and wow, it was actually amazing. Included were so many amazing little desserts to try, the salted caramel tart was the best and I definitely overdid it with the hot chocolate, but it was easily the best hot chocolate I have ever had! Koko Black definitely know chocolate, so if you are a chocolate lover, you want to check this out!

Gelobar – Brunswick

Not really a brunch dessert place, but at Gelobar really it can be whatever you want it to be! They are an Italian restaurant with meals and the amazing dessert case, plus gelato.  The range of cakes and biscuits will have your mouth watering!

Even the focaccias in the sandwich cases are amazing! All authentic food and really well priced! If you want some Italian, hit this place up. I recommend the pistachio cake!
